Anguilla to be Well Represented at 2010 CHTA Market Place Conference

Press Release: ANGUILLA, BRITISH WEST INDIES, Thursday, 7th January, 2010


A delegation of eleven (11) Accommodation members and other industry partners from Anguilla will travel later this week with Mrs. Sherille Hughes, President of the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association, and 3rd Vice President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association to Puerto Rico, to attend the 2010 CHTA Marketplace Conference and CSHEA meetings which are being hosted by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Organization. The CHTA Marketplace Conference which is being held at the Puerto Rico Convention  Centre, is scheduled from Sunday, January 10 until Tuesday January 12, 2010.

The Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association will be represented by Ms. Gilda Gumbs-Samuel, Membership/Events Manager. “Anguilla will be well served to have such strong and varied representation from the hospitality sector and we are very proud of our significant showing at this very important conference. The Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association and its members continue to do their part in contributing to the overall efforts to enhance valuable ties with international travel trade in promoting Anguilla as an intimate and exquisite tourism destination,” Ms. Gumbs-Samuel said.


The Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association will also have a presence at the Executive Directors’ meetings (CSHAE), which will be held during the Marketplace Conference. The goal of the conference is to facilitate the meeting of Tour Operators and Hotels and to provide the opportunity for both sides to conduct business in respect of signing reservations contracts for the upcoming season.


The conference will be held at the Puerto Rico Conference Centre, with housing being provided at various hotels in close proximity to the conference.
