Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011, marked an important date in the AHTA Calendar with the launch of the first General Manager's Luncheon. The General Managers of the Accommodation membership segment of the AHTA were invited to participate in informal business and social discourse over a sumptuous three course luncheon, kindly sponsored and hosted by Anacaona Hotel and its General Manager, Mr. Delroy Lake.
AHTA Executive Director Mrs. Gilda Gumbs-Samuel founded this initiative and was commended for making it happen, given members' busy schedules and pressing daily operational commitments.
Given the excellent turn out and spirited discussions, it is anticipated that this event, to be held every other month, will give rise to strengthening relationships and enhancing communications among AHTA members, who share similar interests and challenges. This informal forum should also prove to be an excellent fertile ground for the brainstorming of ideas and solutions to our various issues in the wider Tourism industry.
